How to Use eBay's Catalog and Barcodes for New Items

Got something new in the box, with a barcode on it? eBay already has a catalog page for a lot of products like that. Prelo can match your item to it and fill in what the catalog knows. The shop in the video uses example data.

Found in eBay's catalog

Open a new-condition item and press Check Comparable Prices. It's free. When at least three similar eBay listings are linked to the same catalog product, Prelo shows it at the top: Found in eBay's catalog, with the product name and eBay's photo. Check it's the same product (same model, size and colour). If it isn't, press Not this one.

Choose what to use

Tick at least one option:

• Catalog photo adds eBay's official product image after your own photos. Your photo stays the main one.
• Item specifics fills brand, model, part number and colour, but only where they're blank. Anything you've typed stays.
• Link listing to product connects your listing to eBay's product page, alongside other sellers of the same item.

Photos from other sellers' listings are never used.

After you confirm

Press Yes, this is my item. The card shows what it added. Press Change to undo it: the catalog photo comes off, and your own photos and details are untouched.

New items only

The catalog photo is only offered on new items. That's eBay's rule: buyers of pre-owned things expect to see the actual one. On a used item you can still fill specifics and link it.

Type the barcode

No match? Press Enter a barcode instead, type the UPC or EAN (the numbers under the bars) and press Look up. If it's in the catalog you get the same card; if it isn't, your photos and AI details are used as they are. Matched items carry a Catalog badge on My Items, and the catalog link and barcode go to eBay when you publish.
