How to Answer eBay Buyer Messages in Prelo

Where your eBay buyer messages show up in Prelo, how to read a conversation, how to reply, and which messages you still answer on eBay.

A buyer wants to know if you'll wrap something carefully, or what it measures. This tutorial shows where those eBay messages show up in Prelo and how to answer one from there. The buyers and orders in the video are example data.

Where messages are

Messages is in the sidebar under Orders. The red number counts messages you haven't opened yet.

Prelo brings in the messages from your eBay inbox for the last 30 days. It checks when you open the page, and Sync Messages checks again. Right now only eBay messages come into Prelo.

The conversation list

Each conversation shows the buyer, the item they're asking about, the latest message, and when it came in. Unread ones are in bold, with a dot. If the latest message is yours, it starts with You.

Reply to a buyer

  1. Open a conversation. The header shows the buyer and the item it's about.
  2. The buyer's messages are on the left, with the time each was sent. Yours show on the right.
  3. Type your answer in the box at the bottom. Enter sends it; Shift + Enter starts a new line.

Your reply goes to the buyer through eBay's messages. Opening a conversation marks it read, so the sidebar count drops by one.

Messages from eBay

Some messages come from eBay itself, like the notice that an item sold, or aren't about any one item. Those can't be answered in Prelo. They show a Reply on eBay button that opens your messages on eBay.

Good to know

  • Opening a message marks it read in Prelo, not on eBay.
  • Replies you send on eBay itself don't show up in Prelo, because only your inbox comes in.
  • There are no AI replies: you write every answer.
  • On your phone, Messages is in the bottom bar, with the same unread count. Tap a conversation to open it full screen.
