Price Check in the Aisle: Scout for eBay Resellers
Holding something in a shop and want to know what it goes for on eBay? Scout identifies it from a photo, shows an estimated value and current asking prices, and saves it to Sourcing if you buy.
You're in the aisle holding something, and you want to know roughly what it's going for on eBay before you buy it. That's what Scout is for. The shop in the video uses example data.
Run a Scout
In Prelo, open the menu. Under Sourcing, it's called Price check; the page itself says Scout. Tap to snap or upload, up to six photos, then pick the clearest one. Only that photo goes to the AI, so choose a clear, full-item shot; close-ups can throw it off. Press Run Scout on selected photo.
The result
Scout says what it thinks the item is, with an estimated value range and how confident the AI is. Below that is a chart of asking prices over the last ninety days, with the median, low and high. These are what sellers are asking on eBay now, not what things sold for.
Narrow it down
Close, but not exact? Tap the matches that look right, add a hint like the decade or the model, and press Run deeper analysis. That uses two of your plan's lookups, or two credits. You get a refined range, an estimated value, refined comparables, and a recommendation: Buy it, Maybe, Skip, or Not enough data.
That recommendation is the AI's judgement. Scout doesn't know what the shop is charging you, and it doesn't work out fees or profit. Treat it as a second opinion.
Save it
Bought it? Press Save to Sourcing. It becomes an item in your Sourcing collection, with the photo, ready to list when you're home. As the page says, Scout estimates are approximate; always check before you buy.
Barcode or text
There's also a public Scout page at listprelo.com/scout. It takes a photo, a barcode or a typed description. On phones that support it, Tap to scan with camera reads the barcode, or type the UPC. For text, be specific: maker, model and size beat a vague description. You get the median eBay comp and a range from current eBay listings. Without an account you can try one Scout free.
What it costs
Signed in, a lookup uses one credit once your plan's monthly lookups are used. On Pay-As-You-Go your first lookup is free, Starter includes five a month, and Volume Unlimited and Pro include unlimited lookups with a fair-use cap. Deeper analysis uses two lookups, or two credits.
