Did Your New eBay Title Help? Compare Before and After in Prelo
eBay can't show two titles at once, so Prelo compares how a listing did before a change with how it did after. How versions work, how to compare two, and how the winner and confidence are worked out.
You rewrote a title last week. Did it help? eBay can't show two titles to different buyers at once, so Prelo compares how the listing did before the change with how it did after. The shop in the video uses example data.
Versions
Open a published eBay item and scroll to Variants & comparisons. Each change you save to eBay starts a new measurement period, called a version. The panel says it plainly: these compare time periods, before and after. Seasons and eBay's own search affect the results, so it isn't a controlled test.
Each version shows what changed, the dates it ran, views per day and how many sold. A new version starts when you publish, when you save a change to eBay from Prelo, or when the AI rewrites the description. If nothing changed, there's no new version.
Changed something outside the listing, like your promoted listing rate? Start new period draws a line without changing the listing.
Compare two versions
Press Compare any two periods, choose the earlier and the later version, and name it if you like. This only works on eBay listings.
The comparison puts them side by side: photo, title and price for each version. The chart plots views per day, conversion, click-through rate or sales, day by day. The star marks the measure the comparison is judged on; tap another star to judge it on that instead. Per-day rates keep it fair if one version ran longer, with raw totals and the number of days underneath.
How the winner is picked
- If one version sold and the other didn't, sales decides.
- With ten or more views on each, conversion.
- With fifty or more impressions on each, click-through rate.
- Otherwise, views per day.
- Within five percent is a tie.
Confidence is high with at least seven days and a hundred impressions on each side and a gap of fifty percent or more, or when one version sold and the other didn't over seven days each. Medium needs three days and thirty impressions each, and a twenty percent gap. Low means keep watching.
What to do with it
Prelo never changes your listing on its own. If the earlier version did better, edit the listing and save it as usual. Archive test freezes the result.
All comparisons, at the top of the panel, lists every comparison you've started. Open lists the ones you haven't archived, and Recent winners shows archived ones with medium or high confidence.
